Richard has more than 20 years’ experience helping both family and owner managed businesses develop and grow.
Richard provides business advisory, accountancy and taxation services across a broad spectrum of business sectors. He works closely in partnership with clients to help achieve their business goals and plan for succession.
Richard has expertise in both the agricultural sector and the medical profession. He regularly delivers seminars to Doctors in General Practice and to farmers advising on the specific and complex accountancy and taxation issues faced by each sector.
Applying a holistic view to both the needs of businesses and those of the directors and shareholders, now and in the future, underpins Richard’s method of working.
His favourite part of the job is interacting with clients and understanding their goals and aspirations. Richard makes it a priority to incorporate these into his accountancy plans.
Richard qualified in 1994 and was a founding partner of BDO Stoy Hayward’s Hull office in 1996. He formed FRS Associates with Frank Farnill in 2002 which subsequently merged with Sowerby & Rushforth in 2006 to form Sowerby FRS and now Sowerby.
