Stewart started his career at A Macdonald & Co, working directly for Colin MacDonald. He rose through the ranks and after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1981 Stewart became an equity partner. Stewart has over 50 years’ experience in general practice and in this time gained an impressive library of knowledge in many business sectors.
From international market leaders in manufacturing to farming partnerships and almost everything in between Stewarts accounting and taxation skills have helped him successfully assist and advise many businesses and high net worth individuals maximising accounting and tax strategies both for the short and long term.
Stewart has in recent years become a specialist in both owner managed business exit strategies and IHT planning. Working hand in hand with legal advisors over the whole of Yorkshire and beyond Stewarts trust and estates knowledge is highly regarded.
Following the merger with Sowerby FRS in early 2018 Stewart acts as a consultant to many SME businesses and expert for our trust and estates sector.
